    XVI. Resignation. A NY Member intending to withdraw from the Club shall notify his intention so to do, in writing, to the ^ Secretary, prior to the date upon which his Sub- scription becomes renewable; and in default he shall not be exempt from payment of his Subscription for the ensuing year, whether he has entered the Club or not. XVII. Insolvent a Member shall be adjudicated a bankrupt, or shall Bankrurj] ^ make any composition or arrangement with his credi- gf.' ^ tors under any Bankruptcy Act, or otherwise, or shall Outlawed have a Receiving Order made against him, or shall be Members. declared a defaulter on the Stock Exchange, or a defaulter on the Turf, he shall ipso facto cease to be a Member of the Club, and shall forfeit all right or claim upon the Club; but upon application being made by such Member to the Committee, stating the cause of such adjudication in bank- ruptcy, making of such composition or arrangement, or Receiving Order, or default on the Stock Exchange or Turf, as the case may be, such Member may be re-admitted and restored to his former rights by the Committee at a meeting specially summoned for that purpose, if a majority of two-thirds of such Committee so determine. In the event of a majority only being in favour of his re-admission, then the name of such person shall be put up for re-admission by ballot according to Rule VIII, free of all entrance fees. All legal expenses incurred in investi- gating the case shall be paid by the ex-Member applying for re-admission. XVIII.
