The Board continues to exercise supervision of the quality of raw water from all the sowces by submitting samples to their Consultant Chemists, the Counties Public Health Laboratories, London, and any changes in chemical or mineralogical qualities of the water are reported upon by Ivir.Gordon lliles, the Principal of those Laboratories, Fluoride occurs naturally in quantities from 0,4 to 0,7 parts per million in the v;ater obtained from the deep borehole sources in the limestone, but it is usually absent in the v/aters obtained from shallow wells and spring sources. The Board is advised by its Consultant Chemists that none of the waters supplied are plumbo-solvent. The Board continues to make provision for increases in the demand for water, by seeking additional sources, and this v/ork is being done in close co-operation with the River Authorities, v/hose statutory areas extend through the Board’s area of supply. -24-](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b29088045_0038.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
