![There are now 5 Maternity and Cliild Welfare Centres, at whieh meetinos are held as follows:—Hoj^etown Hall, Whessoe Lane, Monday, 2-30 ]).ni. to 4 p.ni. ; Albert Road Sehoolhouse, Tiiesda}^ 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and 2-30 p.m. to 4 p.ni. ; East Road Wesleyan Sunday Sehool, Wednesday, 2-30 ]:).in. to 4 }).m. ; Paradise Sunday Sehool, Coniseliffe Road, Thursday, 2-30 p.m. to 4 p.m. ; Coekerton Wesleyan Sunday Sehool, Friday, 2-30 ]).m. to 4 p.m. ; Albert Road Sehoolhouse (Ante-Natal Clinie), last Thursday in eaeh month, 2 p.m. to 3-30 p.m. The Centres have been open 209 times ; 9,089 attendanees have been made by mothers with babies, and 251 by expeetant mothers, the average attendanee being 44.0. The average attendanee of mothers with babies at the different Maternity Centres was as follows;—Albert Road 00.8, East Road 34.3, Paradise Centre 53.1, IIo))etown 31.9, and Coekerton 18.5. The attendanees of exj)eetant mothers have been as follows-Paradise Centre 59, Ilopetown Centre 33, East Road 35, Albert Road 03, (HHBSBBIB Ante-Natal Clinie 01. Health Visitors. —During the year the Health Visitors ])aid 210 first visits and 123 subsequent visits to expeetant mothers; 1,228 first visits and 1,395 re-visits to infants under one year ; and 722 visits in eonnexion with children from 1 to 5 years of age; 51 visits in connexion with still-births ; and 00 in eonnexion with cases of mental defieieney. There were also 205 visits to cases of measles, 30 visits to eases of o])hthalmia neonatorum, 28 visits to cases of diarrhoea, and 055 for other reasons. Home Helps. -Sixty-three apj)lieations were made for the services of Home Helps ; attendance was j)ro\'ided in 32 eases, at which 494 days’ service were given. Maternity Bags were ajiplied for in 34 cases and lent in 27. All the bags were returned in good condition. During 1924, 4,831 pounds of dried milk were sold to mothers attending the Maternity Centres, and 959 were given free.
