This was achieved by reducing the very liberal cubic space which had been allowed for each patient in that institution. The only cost incurred in the matter was in respect of the purchase of additional bedsteads and for general equipment. We look forward to additional relief being obtained in the course of a few months upon the completion of two new blocks for patients at Tooting Bee Asylum, which will further augment the infirmary accommodation by 207 beds. These extra beds will, we trust, be sufficient to meet requirements. Of the 208 patients admitted over 70 years of age, 86 were between 70 and 75, 69 were between 75 and 80, 38 were between 80 and 85, 12 were between 85 and 90, admissions.
