Despite the rapid advances of heminthological science, it is not yet sufficiently well understood how intimately connected are the relations subsisting between man and the domestic animals in reference to entozootic diseases. Whilst our very existence is dependent upon a supply of certain animals, as sources of food and aids to civilization, it can nevertheless be shown that under cer- tain circumstances any one of the most valued of our domestic quadrupeds may become an occasion of discomfort, disease, or even death.
