![MIN U T E S ov THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF TIIE JUVENILE ASSOCIATION, HELD IN THE LARGE ROOM OF THE COMMERCIAL BUILDING C&si Friday £!ie 34th If lay', 1844. At half-past six the Collectors began to assemble and pay in their collec¬ tions to the Treasurer. At eight o’clock the meeting was opened to the public, when the chair was taken by John Clarke, Esq., Mayor of Bel¬ fast; and the meeting having been opened by prayer, and a hymn sung by the blind pupils, the Secretary read the Report of the proceedings of the Committee during the past year. It was then moved by the Rev. Wm. MTlwaine, and seconded by James Bristow, Esq.— “ That the Report now read by the Secretary be printed and circulated, with such appendix as may seem necessary to the Committee,” Mr. Rhind, Principal of the Institution, then examined several of the Association’s pupils, now under instruction, after which it was Moved by the Rev. James Morgan, and seconded by the Rev. Chas. OULTON— “ That this Meeting desire to return thanks to Almighty God for the measure of success He has vouchsafed to this Society in times past, and would most Ear¬ nestly urge their friends to increased exertion.” Moved by the Rev. George Bennett, and seconded by the Rev. Jo- sias Wilson— “ That the 4th, 5th, and 6th General Rules of the Association be amended as follows:”— “ IV.—Every person approved of by the Committee, and who shall collect the sum of One Pound annually, shall be a Member of this Association. “ V.—At every Election for Pupils, each Member shall be entitled to one vote for the first Twenty Shillings, and one vote for every additional Five Shillings contained in the sum paid to the Treasurer. “ VI.—The business of the Association shall be managed by a Committee of seven members, a Treasurer, and Secretary (who shall be members of Committee ex officio), to bo chosen annually, three of whom attending shall constitute a quorum.’ ’’ Moved by the Rev.
