(See Rieu, Caza- logue of the Persian Manuscripts in the British Museum 14.) Copies of this work are comparatively common. See Ahlwardt 3027 (extracts from al-Qdnawi’s commentary compiled by ‘Ali ibn Ahmad al-Manifi, d. 880/1457), Fliigel 1888 (with commentary of al- Odnawi), Nicoll-Pusey 253 (with commen- tary of Shihab al-Din al-Suhrawardi), etc. For a short extract (containing part of the preface only) see Loth.6576 The text of al- Kalabadhi was printed at Cairo in 1933— 4, and a translation, by A. J. Arberry, at Cambridge in 1935. FUsKh 3063: 1219 4100.——Foll--223° 72x 57 in. 01 17-197 clea regular naskhi; no rubrications; most diacritical points marked; 11 folios missing at beginning; first 8 folios badly damaged and restored; many others slightly damaged; foll. 73, 82-09, 1109, 129-32, 157, 231-2 (Arabic numeration) additions in a much later hand; dated 26 Rabi‘ II 586/r1ro1. [Purchased 3 April 1925] Jl I القشيرية al-Risalah al-Qushairiyah. A very old copy of the well-known text- book of Sufism by Abi ’l-Qasim ‘Abd al- Karim ibn Hawazin al-Qushairi, who died / اشر in 465/1074 (see Shadharat al-dhahab 1 319). This copy is unfortunately imperfect, the first 11 folios being missing, while ex- tensive damage and the loss of many folios throughout the volume have been repaired by a very late hand. The work is fully described in many places (cf. Ahlwardt 111 8-9): but in view of the remarkable antiquity of this copy a detailed analysis is given. Fol. 12a (the first in this copy) 1s much damaged and effaced, but begins towards the end of the section on Abu Sulaiman al-Ta’i (printed on p. 16 of the Cairo edition of 1284/1867). In this ac- count the Arabic foliation is given.
