This was cleaned, overhauled, bituminous lined, and sterilised. There is no reason to consider the water likely to have plumbo-solvent action, and it has not been necessary to take any action in respect of any form of contamination of the sources, al- though water receives precautionary Chlorine treatment. .\ new Trunk 15in. main, started two years ago, was com- pleted in December, 1950. Chemical analysis of the town’s water supply shows that the water is of the highest standard of organic and bacterial purity consistent with a pure and wholesome character and suital)le for public supply purposes.
