We have feen the Patients troubled with the Hernia Varico[a, where the Vef- fels are crowded with Humours, and their Subftance is thicken’d and harden’d fome- times fo much, that there is no poilibility of reducing them to their ufual fize by the niceft Management> for they will, all their Life after, have thefe Vcifels more turgid than ufual. Affoon as the Venom has left the Se¬ cret Parts, and is lick’d up into the BLood- Veffels, then it Circulates along with the Blood into all the Parts of the Body, and produces every Symptom producible by a vitiated Blood, fuch are Pains, Puftules, Ulcers, Itchings, Tetters, &c. for 4s the Acrimony, the Blood is tainted withal], makes the Globules of a fize, which do not, in circulating, yield as it ought to do, for want of a due Rlafticity, they are apt to flick clofe to the little Arteries or Fi¬ bres, which they cannot pafs thro'; and thus, according to their degree of Acri¬ mony, they either give us troublefome Senfations, which are often, in the begin¬ ning, not Lifting ; or at other times they are deeply engaged in the Capillaries, and die Blood being very much tainted of C charged
