July.—A cold, wet, sunless month. August.—The coldest, except for 1912, since 1885. Small rainfall. September.—One of the wettest on record. October.—Unusually mild, dry, calm and sunny. November.—Cold, dry, misty, yet sunny. December.—First and last weeks warm ; two middle weeks very cold, with snow, sleet and frost.
