April.—A wet, sunless month, with a mean tem¬ perature above the average. May.—A very warm, dry, and sunny month. June.—Fairly warm and sunny, with rainfall a little below the average. July.—A cold, wet, sunless month. August.—The coldest, except for 1912, since 1885. Small rainfall. September.—One of the wettest on record. October.—Unusually mild, dry, calm and sunny. November.—Cold, dry, misty, yet sunny. December.—First and last weeks warm ; two middle weeks very cold, with snow, sleet and frost.
