Literary World, Bew-York. During the year a few changes have occurred in the resident officers. Early in the season Dr. Buttolph, who had been con¬ nected with this Asylum from its orgnization, as first assistant physician, v/as appointed superintendent of the Bew Jersey State Lunatic Asylum, and immediately entered upon the dis¬ charge of the duties of that station ; and in March last. Dr. Brown, the second assistant physician, resigned, and removed to Bew-York. The vacancies thus occasioned have been filled by the appointment of J. Edwards Lee, M. D., who had been associated with us for several years, and C. H. Bichols, M. D. Both these gentlemen are well educated physicians, and efficient and capable officers. On them has devolved laborious and re¬ sponsible duties, which they have discharged ably and faith- fully.
