![Superintend- ing Surgeons to visit all Hospitals within their respective Divisions. To make Monthly Re- ports on the state of the Sick. Visitation of all Hospitals by Superin- tending Sur- geons annual- ly- [ 16 ] intendence in the other Divisions will likewise be applica- ble to the Presidency. 14. It will be the particular duty of Superintending Sur- geons to make frequent personal inspections of all Regimental or other Hospitals within their respective Divisions, to enforce the most unremitting attention to their professional duties on the pai't of all Medical Staff under their authority, and to inspect with rigid attention the Medical Diaries and Registers—enforcing strict conformity to the forms pre- scribed. 15. Monthly Reports of the General State of Hospitals and of the Sick of their respective Divisions are to be made by Superintending Surgeons to the Medical Board, which General Reports are to be accompanied by Monthly Returns of the Sick in Hospital of European and of Native Corps respectively; together with such observations on all points relating to the Hospital Department as may appear neces- sary to be brought under the notice of the Board; trans- mitting at the same time, notices of any remarkable cases of diseases that may have occurred in Medical practice, together with copies of any particular instructions for the regulation of the Hospital duties, and of any communica- tions of approbation or censure which they may have deemed it necessary to issue in the course of the preceding month. 16. It is expected and required that each Superintending Surgeon shall accomplish an inspection of every Hospital European and Native under his Superintendence at least once in each year, and visit not less than twice a week every Hospital at the Station or in the Camp at which he may be present, and at the close of each year a full and detailed Report is to be forwarded through the Officer Commanding the Division, to the Adjutant General of the Army, to be laid before the Commander in Chief.
