So with gout; the gouty man has failed to put in motion that machinery which is necessary for converting the results of the “pleasures of the table ” into wholesome and healthy material. TREATMENT OF RETROCEDENT GOUT. The treatment of retrocedent gout is that of counter-irritation to the extremities, with sedatives internally—opium and ol. terebinth, seem the most reliable.
