In many Parts of the Body the Hair ferves for both common and particular Ufe 5 as that of the Head, Eye-brows, and Beard, &c. Here we fee that the feemingly moft trifling and inconfiderdable Parts of our Bodies are of great Service to us, and do, as well as the more noble, demonftrate our Creator to have been Infinite in Councel, and Excellent in Working 3 and that as he has’ numbred our Hairs, and none of them can fall to the Ground without his Knowledge, fo neither can we fuftain any Lofs through their Want, or fear any Decay, without his Penniffion. Further, Wifdom is not only difcernable in the Ufe of the Hair, but alfo in its juft Bulk: For if this be too final], as fometimes it is in the Hair of the Head, the Confequence thereof is troublefome Diforders in that Part, and in the Eyes, proceeding probably from the Retention of the perfpirable Matter in thole Parts, by reafon of the undue Straitnefs of the Orifices. If they, on the contrary, are too ftrong and grofs, the Cutting of it is attended with an uneafy Senfation of Pain, and fometimes with an Hemorrhage of Blood, as in the Morbus Polonicus.
