    the house, the licence shall remain in force and have the same effect as if granted to the survivors or survivor. (7.) Where a licence has been transferred by the justices of a county or borough under section thirty-nine of the Act eight and 5 nine Victoria, chapter one hundred, the clerk of the peace of the county or borough shall within three days after the date of the instrument of transfer send a copy thereof to the Commissioners. (8.) A clerk of the peace who makes default in performing the duty imposed upon him by this section shall for each day during 10 which the default continues forfeit forty shillings. (9.) After the expiration of five years from the commencement of this Act no pauper lunatic shall be received in any licensed house, and after the expiration of that period no licence for the reception or detention of pauper lunatics in a licensed house shall 15 be granted or renewed. 45.—(1.) The clerk to the guardians of every union shall make a copy of every list sent to him under section sixty-six of the Lunatic Asylums Act, 1853, and section twenty-one of the Lunacy Acts Amendment Act, 1862, and shall within ten days after each thirty-first 20 of March, thirtieth of June, thirtieth of September, arid thirty-first of December, send every list received by him to the Commissioners with a statement of the names of any medical officers whose lists he has not received. The clerk shall within twenty-four hours after the receipt of any lists not sent to him until more than ten days 25 after the aforesaid dates send the same to the Commissioners. (2.) The clerk to the guardians of every union shall within the times within which the said lists are to be sent to the Commissioners send a copy of every list to the clerk to the visitors of the asylum for the county or borough in which the union for which he is 30 clerk is situate. (3.) The clerk of every asylum shall on the first of January in every year prepare and sign a return made up to that day containing such particulars as the Commissioners may from time to time direct concerning the number of admissions, discharges, and deaths of 35 patients under treatment in the asylum during the previous year, and their classification, and shall within fifteen days after every such first of January send the return to the Commissioners. (4.) Every clerk to the guardians of a union and every clerk of an asylum who makes default in performing the duties imposed 40 upon him by this section, shall for each day or part of day during A.D. 1886. 8 & 9 Vict. c. 100. s. 39.
