![[The following Claufe being cf the greatejl Importance, is here given at greater length than the others.] 19* And in order to obviate any doubts which .may arife in the conftru&ion of this Act for want of a particular fpeci- fication of the different preparations fubject to the duties by this Adi impofed; be it enacted, that the rates and duties hereby impofed on preparations ufed, or to be ufed, as medi- cines for the prevention, cure, or relief of any ailment in- cident to or affedting the human body; and upon perfons uttering or vending the fame; and all the powers, provi- fions, penalties, See. preferibed by this Act, (hall extend to every article mentioned in the Schedule.—[The words of the rfft, are, “ the Schedule annexed,” but by the del of -i7i Geo.
