About this work

Description

Pamphlet discussing Honigberger's use of an innoculation of "Quassite or quassine ... the bitter principle of quassia amara wood" as a cure for cholera. It "destroys the cholera-flies in the bloodvessels" and works on the newly discovered "homoeopathic principle of "similia similibus". Cholera in Europe and India in the mid nineteenth century is documented as is Honigberger's suffering from asthma and Dr. Fountain's attempt to cure cholera by electro-magnetism at Mons. Smallpox and plague are also discussed. Justus von Liebig is mentioned.
