A remarkable narrative of five trials between a farrier at Windsor, and an eminent I------- , I. On an indictment in January 1747, against the L -- , for an assault and battery, whereon the L. -- was convicted and fined. II. On an Indictment in Summer Assizes, 1747 preferred by the L -- against the Farrier, for wilful and corrupt Perjury, not tried till the Summer Assizes, 1750, whereon the Farrier was honourably acquirted. III. On an Action brought by the Farrier, whereon he obtaintained a Verdict, and 20 l. Damages, and costs of suit. IV. On an Action brought by the Farrier against the L -- for a false Charge of wilful and corrupt Perjury, whereon the Farrier obtained a Verdict, and 100 l. Damages, and Costs of Suit, at the Summer Assizes, 1751, at Abingdon. V. On a motion made by the l-, this Verdict was set aside, whereon a new Trial was granted, and at Lent Assizes, 1752, was tried by a Special Jury, whereon the L -- obtained a Verdict.
