The pronunciation and orthography of the French language rendered perfectly easy , on a plan quite original. Containing, I. A concise, but comprehensive Theory of the Pronunciation, with Tables for Practice; in which are exemplified the different Sounds of the Vowels, Diphthongs, and Triphthongs; also those of the Single, Double, and Triple Consonants, in their various Situations: the Whole arranged alphabetically. II. A Vocabulary of such Words as are the same, and of others that resemble each other in Sound, but differ in Spelling, briefly explained, properly accented, the Parts of Speech, and the Genders of the Nouns distinguished. III. A Vocabulary of those Words which, though consisting of the same Letters, vary in Meaning or Pronunciation, and sometimes in both, according as they are differently connected or accentuated. IV. A Collection of Phrases, Dialogues, Maxims, Fables, Stories, and Repartees. V. Remarks on the Composition and Reading of French Verse, exemplified by Specimens of Poetry.
