    A brief account of, and an introduction to, eight lectures, in the science of music , to be read as soon as fifty subscribers, at one guinea each for the course, shall have sent their address for that purpose; in which are proposed, to be demonstrated and to be explained the radical sources of melody and harmony, Deduced from the rational Principles of the Philosophy of Sounds, from Arithmetical Calculations, and from Geometrical Divisions in the Construction of Monochords, to ascertain the different Scales of the several Genera of the Greeks and the Moderns; by a clear, a concise, and an intelligible Method, different from what has been attempted before.
