An impartial enquiry into the standing monuments, or external and internal evidences which prove the scriptures to be a revelation from God. In which is considered I. The Necessity of a revelation. II. What things are necessary to assure us that this or that system of religion is from heaven. III. Shew that the scriptures are supported by all the evidences needful to prove its divinity. Under this head the seeming contrast an the accounts given by the evangelists, on which the objections to its divinity are founded, are fully removed; and the supposed absurdities charged on the doctirnes contained in the scriptures, fully examined.
