Description

Photograph of two pairs of spectacles with cases. The first is a pair of 17th century hinged, silver framed glasses with a carved wood case with fastenings. They were acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1917 (accession numbers R5911 (glasses) and R5918 (case)). The second pair are leather-rimmed metal bridged glasses with no lenses. They were acquired at an unknown point and accessioned in 1917 (accession number R5915). Neither pair are held by Wellcome Collection.
