Bound in front of the item is a letter from the author Henry Carr of 21 Cedars Road, Clapham Common, dated 18 Feb 1880, regarding testing various samples for arsenic. Also bound in are three samples of wallpaper, two arsenical and one not.

Binding detail

Modern half leather binding with marbled paper. On the spine is a red label with "Medical Tracts" and a black label with "188", both in gold lettering.
