Description

Photograph of three Greek lekythos. The first (right) is from the 4th century BC and is decorated with a bird and conventional design. It was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R762/1936). The middle lekythos is Attic from the 5th century BC and is decorated with a winged female figure. It was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1930 and accessioned in 1946 (accession number R220/1946). The third lekythos (left) is from the 5th century BC and decorated with the figure of a hare. It was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1931 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R1328/1936). None of the items are held by Wellcome Collection. Related images: M0016195, M00161097
