Francis Galton's copy of John Carr, A Synopsis of Practical Philosophy, Alphabetically Arranged, Containing A Great Variety of Theorems, Formulae, and Tables, from the Most Accurate and Recent Authorities, in Various Branches of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy; to Which are Subjoined Small Tables of Logarithms., Second Edition, (London: John Weale; 1843). 390 ff.

Galton has annotated the volume with equations, notes and tables in several places, in ink and pencil. In addition to these annotations, several notes have been pasted into the volume.

Folio 1r is annotated "Francis Galton 1859. 42 Rutland Gate, Knightsbridge, London. SW."
