Description

Impressions from two cylinder seals. On the left is a stone seal incised with a man standing before the Sumerian god Shamash and an attendant leading a man before the god Astarte. It was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1924 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R2374/1938). The other seal is incised with impressions of gems. It was purchased at auction by the Musuem in 1919 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R2376/1938)
