10 autograph letters by Rennie, signed (nos.12-21). Correspondents include the antiquarian Rev. James Yates F.R.S. (no.13), the engineer Charles Manby (1804-1884) (nos.14-16 and 19-20) (no.19 going into detail about the thrust of earth behind a wall and how this differs according to the amount of water present), the engraver James Wilson Lowry (1803-1879) (no.17) and the marine painter Edward William Cooke (1811-1880). Also a drawing of an ancient arch on the greek island of Delos, with descriptive note (no.22); a drawing of a scaffolding apparatus (no.23) and a printed form letter, with autograph insertions, to Rennie from the astronomer Sir George Biddell Airy (1801-1892) (no.24).
