Description
Impressions from two cylinder seals. The one on the left was Sumerian and made of diorite incised with a lion fighting a bull and a repeated image of the sun god. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1938 (R2387/1938). The one on the right was made of black stone and carved with a conventional design. It was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1929 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R2379/1938).
