Left-hand side: Reproduction of a photograph of two women holding babies with tightly bandaged heads to create an elongated skull, New Guinea. This reproduction was made from an unidentified photograph held by Wellcome Collection. Right-hand side: Reproduction of a photograph by Spink & Sons of a marble relief sculpture depicting a woman and child with midwife. This reproduction was made from another photograph of this image accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (PHO 4450).
