Description
Photograph of two pairs of dental forceps and a pocket case of dental scalers. The forceps on the left are a protoype of the "Crow's Bill" forceps for stumps, 17th century. They were acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1918 (accession number R8574). The pair on the right have a strongly curved beak in line with the handles, 16th-17th century. They were acquired by the Museum in Paris in 1928 and given accession number A291. The early 19th century case of scalers is French. It was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1920 (accession number R11986)
