About this work
Description
Agenda to a private RDS meeting of the Animal Protection Group, 10 October, 1977. Research organizations that had experienced vandalism and theft were invited to attend.
The Agenda bears a Paton note in pencil (dated, July 1991): "I gave it this name with the word 'Protection' to point to the fact that animals were at risk from ALF. I suspect Halsbury lifted it for his Animal Protection Bill." There is a "list of episodes in 1976 and 1977" drawn from newspaper cuttings detailing damage sustained by numerous organizations, and also a list detailing the extent of police involvement.
Note: the file contains a pink 'Requisition for Documents' slip of the Wellcome Library, indicating that the file was consulted by Paton in 1991 (i.e. prior to the collection being catalogued).
