Description

Photograph of the upper surface of an equinoctial ring-dial and one side of a Horary Quadrant showing hour lines for unequal hours. The dial is from c.1700, unsigned and undated. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1925 (accession number R16013). The quadrant is unsigned and undated, possibly 17th century, German or Flemish. It was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1924 (accession number R15476) Neither instrument is held by Wellcome Collection.
