Description

Photograph of two mortars each with one lug (handle). One is c.17th century and is decorated with three representations of a coat of arms, a tower surmounted by a five-petalled flower and the initials "G.V.". It was presented to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1961 and given accession number A106234. The other was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in the 1910s (accession number R18112)
