![N° 20,905 A.D. 1901 Date of Application, 18th Oct,, 1901 —Accepted, 23rd Nov., 1901 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION. “ An Improvement in Luminous Dry Heat Baths.” I, Herbert John Dowsing, of 2A Budge How, Cannon Street, in tlie City of London, Electrical Engineer, do hereby declare the nature of this invention and in what manner the same is ho be performed, to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following' statement: — 6 My invention relates to the construction of a compact and conveniently portable bath in which a patient can be treated with radiant heat and light, as I shall describe referring to the accompanying drawings. Eig 1 is a section and Eig. 2 is a plan of one form of bath according to my invention in condition for use. Eig. 3 is a plan of it folded together for 10 transport. a are four corner pieces in which are arranged the luminous heaters which may be, as shewn, elongated electrical glow lamps h, or might be gas or other lamps when electricity is not available. Each of the corner pieces a is mad© with a projecting' reflector c having its reflecting sides so arranged that the 15 light and heat rays impinging on them are reflected sideways, not in the direction in which they come from the lamps. One end of each corner piece is hinged to a side nlate d and two doors e are attached by hinges that can be lifted off their bearings, each to one of the corner pieces whilst the other edge of each of these doors e is held by a drop latch or other convenient fastening to another 20 of the corner pieces. A patient may sit on a chair within the enclosure thus formed which may be covered by a piece of fabric such that the patients head may pass through and be exposed above it. When the bath is to be transported, the four corner pieces a are folded against the sides d and are placed face to face with the doors e between them, as 25 shewn in Fig 3. Although I have shewn by way of example a bath forming a square enclosure, obviously it might be made in other forms, its parts being so separably attached to one another that they can be conveniently packed together for transport in the manner illustrated. 30 Having’ now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is: — A luminous dry heat bath comprising corner pieces having lamps and pro¬ jecting reflectors, and side plates and doors connecting the pieces so as to form 35 an enclosure substantially as described.
