Biographical note
Given the unique requirements of the Sanger Centre a suitable building could not be found immediately. The Sanger Centre was thus initially accommodated in existing research laboratories at Hinxton Hall, which had been acquired by the Wellcome Trust in December 1992. The Sanger Centre temporary accommodation was established in early 1993.
