![Date of Application, 20th June, 1901 Complete Specification Left, 20th Mar., 1902—Accepted, 15th Mav, 1902 PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION. A New or Improved Poultice Boot for Horses and other Animals. I, Walter Clay Peters, of, Victoria Street, Chatteris Cambs. Gentleman, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows :— This invention relates to a new or improved poultice boot, the object being to construct the boot in such a manner that the steam and heat may be retained as long 5 as possible. In carrying this invention into practical effect, the lower part of the boot consists of a receptacle in which the hoof is intended to be placed. This receptacle is of suitable shape for the purpose in view and is preferably formed of leather in any convenient and suitable manner. JO Around the top of this lower part or receptacle, a comparatively narrow strip of canvas or other suitable flexible material is secured, provided with a running string, so that the canvas may be drawn in and secured in the fetlock, so as to completely enclose the hoof, while to the top of the lower part or receptacle, outside this flexible strip, two or more pieces of leather or other suitable material are secured, designed 15 to surround the leg, with their edges overlapping, where they are secured in position in any convenient manner, or a single piece of leather or other suitable material may be secured to the top of the lower part or receptacle, which is afterwards cut vertically so as,to divide it into two or more parts in such a manner that the edges may overlap when secured in position around the leg of the animal. 20 Dated this 20th day of June 1901, CASSELL & Co Crown Chambers, 9 Regent Street, London.
