Description
Two wooden statues, one of St John the Baptist holding a lamb, invoked for falling sickness, convulsions and other forms of vertigo and spasms. The other of St Maurus (6th centruy), discilple of St. Benedicte. The first statue was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R423/1938). The second statue was purchased by the Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4779/1937).
