About this work
Description
T.O. Cockayne's Leechdoms, Wortcunning and Starcraft was originally published in 1864-1866; Singer was involved in the late 1950s and 1960 in putting together a facsimile reprint, for which he wrote an introduction. This file contains that introduction and correspondence regarding the reprint.
It also includes various typescripts, apparently unrelated to this, which were found with the Cockayne material on Singer's death in 1960: these comprise
"Byzantine sources for some Anglo-Saxon charms"
"Magic ritual for fertilising fields"
"A magic song against elf-shot"
