Reproduction of an illustration of an Instrument created by M.J. Gutberlet for facilitating abdominal hysterectomy, designed to grasp the portio vaginalis of the cervix so that it can be pushed up against the abdominal wall. Originally published in Siebold Journal fur Gebrutshulfe, volume I, 1813-1815, and reproduced in Ricci, James V: The development of gynaecological surgery and instruments, Philadelphia : Blakiston, 1949
