Photograph of the final two pages of a letter dated 5 February 1869 from Lister to his brother Arthur concerning experiments with the absorption of gut ligatures. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges.
