Photograph of seven statues of a seated Imhotep, Ancient Egyptian chancellor to Pharaoh Djoser, High Priest of Ra and physician who was deified after his death. From top left to bottom right: 1. bronze statue on an ebony base purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1921 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R36/1936); 2. bronze statue on a wooden base acquired by the Museum at an unkown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R60/1936); 3. bronze figure on a wooden stand purchased at auction by the Museum in 1932 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number A190368) 4. gilded bronze statue on an alabaster base acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R54/1936); 5. bronze statue on a marble base purchased at auction by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R37/1936); 6. bronze statue on a wooden base purchased at auction by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R58/1936); 7. bronze statue on an alabaster base acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R53/1936). The statues are not held by Wellcome Collection.
