Description

Two wooden statues, one of an unknown saint and one of St Cyriaque, also known as St Cyriacus, invoked against diabolic possession. The statue of an unknown saint originally included a child being held by the hand but it was missing by the time the photograph was taken. It was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4736/1937). The other statue was purchased by the Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4778/1937). Neither is held by Wellcome Collection.
