Photograph of a wooden cylinder with four small bags containing power-giving substances attached to the sides, from Ghana, West Africa. This item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (R6071/1936). The accession register suggests this may be called a 'soum' and was used to find the causation of disease by human agency.
