Photograph of a letter dated 6 March 1893 from the Academie des Sciences, Institut de France, announcing Lister's election as a foreign associate of the Academie des Sciences. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges
