Although this book is the same format as RET 6/2/2/1, it was probably compiled for a specific purpose rather than as an admission record in the main series. It has details, entered alphabetically, of all patients resident in April 1847, with chronological entries of admissions thereafter, and with entries continuing up to the end of 1852, but with only a few entries for the years 1850 - 1852. 'Daniel H. Tuke' is written on the flyleaf. Tuke temporarily acted as Secretary and House Steward at The Retreat between 1847 and 1851, and this seems to have been compiled at that time, perhaps in connection with this work, or with his intended medical studies - he left to pursue these, returning as assistant medical officer in 1854 until 1861.
