Photograph of the first page of a letter dated 23 May 1878 from the President of the Royal Commission inviting Lister to act as a juror at the French Exhibition in Section 14, Medicine, Hygiene and Public Relief. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges.
