[00:00:00] Background, 2008 started the charity Street Child in Sierra Leone, motivations behind starting Street Child, MA in human rights at LSE (The London School of Economics and Political Science) 2005-2007, why the charity was started in Sierra Leone specifically. [00:05:00] Describes work that Street Child do in urban and rural environments in Sierra Leone. [00:08:30] Recalls first hearing about Ebola. [00:12:50] Work of Street Child in West Point, Liberia, before and during Ebola, motivations of working in West Point, Liberian authorities creating holding centre in West Point, sudden quarantining of West Point, Street Child delivering food. [00:16:00] Reflects on his changing mindset towards Ebola, talks about shootings at West Point August 20th, two boys being shot. [00:18:30] Talks about increased fundraising during Ebola. [00:20:00] The suffering of those that Ebola leaves behind, reflecting on the wider humanitarian role of Street Child. [00:35:30] Reflects that the people making the decisions are based in Freetown they don’t know the entire country. [00:37:30] Talks about MSF not understanding the cultural context of the areas they were working in, just concentrating on patients and not how the patients were becoming patients in the first place, weren’t looking at social factors.
