Description

Photograph of stylised iron implements used as currency, either as a doctor's fee, hoe-money or spade-money. They were presented to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum by Captain R. G. Anderson and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R15618/1936). They are mentioned in the Fourth report of the Wellcome Research Laboratories at the Gordon Memorial College, Khartoum, 1911.
