About this work
Also known as
Previous title, replaced January 2025: Harold Wilson MP and George Brown MP, riding in a speedboat, are called in by the boat hire proprietor as their time is up. Drawing by P. Davidson, 1967.
Description
Crayon drawing of a speedboat driven by a man in red smoking a pipe, another man wearing the union flag seated on the back, being called in to shore by a man in blue with a loudhailer. The speedboat has 'Wilson 10' inscribed on the side, and the drawing is likely a satirical reference to Harold Wilson's defence of the devaluation of the sterling in a television address on 19th November 1967. Inscribed on the front by the creator. Creator's name and the date of creation are inscribed on the reverse, probably by Edward Adamson.
