About this work
Description
The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Frank Vosper (1899-1937) created the role of Mr Dulcimer, a predatory wealthy homosexual in Mordaunt Shairp's play 'The green bay tree', which caused a sensation when it opened in London in 1932. It transferred to Broadway the following year, giving the young Laurence Olivier his first Broadway role (not in this part). Vosper died in 1937 under tragic and mysterious circumstances that were the subject of much press speculation at the time".
